When you attempt to log into the National Bank website, it redirects to nbnz.co.nz regardless of whether you came through nbnz.co.nz or nationalbank.co.nz. NBNZ.co.nz is currently not resolving correctly. People are unable to log into internet banking.
Website unavailability via domain name confirmed from multiple locations as shown below
HyperSpin
Alertra SpotCheck
OpenDNS reports the following nameserver failures
alien.xtra.co.nz returned (SERVFAIL)
terminator.xtra.co.nz returned (SERVFAIL)
You can verify that NBNZ owns the above IP address here:
http://whois.domaintools.com/nbnz.co.nz
You can still log into the National Banks online banking directly through it's IP address at:
https://202.49.143.70/online/onlinebanking/secure/asp/login.asp
As the security certificate will not be valid for the above IP address (only nbnz.co.nz), you will need to add an exception when you are alerted to this by your web browser.

IX Webhosting Migrates My MySQL Database
IX webhosting have now migrated my MySQL databases for nztechie.com and nztechie.net on to a new MySql server. They migrated it three hours after the agreed time but I don't see any problems at this stage.

IX Web Hosting mySQL Server Problems
NZTECHIE.COM is currently experiencing some severe degradation in service with the main site being unavailable at regular intervals. According to IX Web Hosting they are experiencing a hardware problem with the MySQL server I am using in conjunction with my site. The MySQL server in question is MySQL404.
At this time the fault is ongoing.
Below is a copy of the email response to my support request.
Dear Hayden.
Thank you for contacting tech support.
I am terribly sorry for the problem you have faced. The issue is related to certain hardware problems with our database server. We are aware of that issue and our administrators do their best to fix it as soon as possible. Now as I can see your site is working fine. Please monitor it for some hours and if there are still any problems with accessing databases please update this ticket in order we can check if we can provide you permanent solution of that problem or inform you about the progress of fixing the server. Thank you for your patience and kind understanding.
Kind regards,
Dennis Fischuk

Email from Ferrit
Hi Hayden
Unfortunately, we are writing to let you know that Telecom has decided to close Ferrit.co.nz, so from 5pm Wednesday 14th January you will no longer be able to make purchases online at www.ferrit.co.nz. Of course you can still visit any one of our retailer’s websites directly.
Ferrit retailers will be fulfilling any outstanding orders in the system by Friday 23rd January if not sooner and we will be working with retailers to ensure this happens. If the retailer is unable to fulfil an order due to stock availability or timing issues you will be contacted and your order will be refunded.
Ferrit appreciates your support in the past and is sorry we cannot continue to serve you.
Kind regards
The Team at Ferrit.co.nz
