My Vodafone - Working Again

Many years ago I registered for Vodafone's online "My Vodafone" website. At the time the facilities and services that the site offered were limited and I eventually lost interest and did not make use of the website. Over the years Vodafone has improved this site and added additional functionality which resparked my interest. Unfortunately for me I had forgotten my password for use with the service. The service has a "forgotten password" recovery option that requires the user to answer a secret question before their password is reset. Due to the fact that I had signed-up before the secret question facility was introduced I could not reset my password and had to call the Vodafone helpdesk. When I attempted to use the reset facility on the site I was greeted with a message to this effect. As Vodafone will be charging prepay customers to speak with their helpdesk sometime this month I thought now was a good time to give them a buzz.

Now I have called vodafone a number of times in the past and they have sent a temporary password to my phone. Every time they have done this the password has not been accepted. Yesterday, I had another temporary password sent to my phone, which was promptly rejected by Vodafone's website. I then called the helpdesk back and explained the situation. For some reason my account was in some sort of "incomplete registration" status which roughly translated means they screwed-up my account. The customer service representative wiped out my online account and I had to register as a new user again. New users who register on the Vodafone site can get a free $10 credit on their phone if they complete a brief survey. This would make it the second time I have filled in this survey and received a $10 credit on my account. At least the whole process wasn't all bad.
